Hi Everyone!
Take a *peek* into my practice in this video.

My practice is called Peek Counseling and it’s named that for actually a couple of reasons.
The first is of course my name, Katie Bisbee-Peek. But the second can be summed up in my logo of the eye peeking through in color. The goal in my practice (which by the way, I work with adolescents, families, young adults, and fellow counselors mostly) is to help you find the color in the world. To be able to peek out and see that there can be sunshine and brightness in your everyday life (even when you just have an OK day).
For a long time, I’ve worked with middle school and high school students and their families. And, through my work, I have also developed a niche in working with fellow counselors as the Counselor for the Counselor.
In this video… I am asked, “What kind of clients do I get most excited about working with and why.” This question is so hard for me because I want to say, “Everybody!” Or really, anyone who connects with me after reading my blog, seeing me at an event or checking out my website. But in all reality, it is often adolescents that I end up getting the most excited to work with in so many ways. And it’s who I end up working with as well. They can be as young as 10 years old, or more typically, somewhere between 13 and 18, and their families of course. They keep me on my toes!
Some of the many issues that my clients are facing when they are adolescents are fitting in, bullying, self-esteem, communication with adults, anxiety, depression, etc. It’s many of the same issues that adults have challenges with too.
My methodology? Let’s bring on the fun. Bring on the humor! I love to laugh during my sessions. And, we look at the whole picture together. It’s not one person or one situation. It’s everything taken together and that’s what I aim to look at when I meet with people.
I love to support, but really give you the tools to support yourself, find out who you are, and give yourself the strength to have hope in life. Thanks for watching!
~ Katie
