New Year Resolutions Check-In…
I usually make the same New Year’s Resolution. Something along the lines of losing weight, making more money, etc. However, this year seemed different to me, maybe because I am more “mature,” or getting older, wiser, regardless, this year I am more focused on becoming a better version of myself! Now, that sounds great and very therapeutic, however, what the hell does that mean?
I am sure I am not alone in this search. My other question is: Why does is have to be a new year’s resolution/goal just because it is midnight on December 31st? Why not try to expand this and make it a mindset, an everyday thought and practice? Anyway, after thinking it over and trying to pinpoint what I actually mean here we go…
A better version of myself includes; to read inspirational, fun, and educational books, to be curious about my intensions, question myself and my goals, always try to do the best I can, to be happy with what I have and what I have done in the moment and not say, “if I only had this or if I only had done that, only then will I be happy,” not to be happy conditionally rather be unconditionally happy (thank you to my friend Krista for helping me put this into words).
As we hit February, I am checking-in on myself. Did I lose momentum? How is it going, should I just give up and wait until next year? Overall, I am a working progress, I will continue to move forward and revisit my “new year’s resolution” throughout the year! Yes, I have started to read two books both inspirational and educational 🙂
How are your new year’s resolutions going???
