Some of the most incredible changes that I have observed over the years are with the entire family. When you think about it, more is accomplished when many are involved. And when families work together, they achieve the most success. I love helping families take the broken pieces from their personal stories and come together as one, remembering how much they really love each other, forgiving each other, and respecting each other’s differences. Even though the family is related by blood or bond, there may be many unique personalities at play. I create a safe space for families to work towards harmony in their relationships with each other.
Many times there is not just one person in the family that “needs to change,” it takes the entire family to change to become better as a family unit.
My therapeutic techniques come from a strength based approach, systemic approach including structural family therapy, strategic family therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. I strive to really listen and understand each family members’ point of view. With this knowledge, I am able to help the entire family come together.
When everyone is heard, everyone has value and equality inside the family. I help families learn to listen to one another and choose better reactions when problems come up.
The most important part of family therapy in my practice, is getting to know your family, your entire family, pets, family who is not “blood” related, the good, bad, and the ugly. This process can be scary, intimidating, stressful, and overwhelming; the light at the end of the tunnel can be a closer, healthier, stronger, and empowered family unit. No family is perfect! I look forward to learning more about yours. Counseling can bring great relief to families. Being able to share in a safe space what has been going on or impacting you is a great feeling. Maybe you have been keeping it all inside. Maybe you have been having trouble connecting to one or more of your family members and need a place to talk. Or, maybe you are all seeking a neutral party to work on your family issues. In all cases, I strive to bring healing and togetherness back into your lives.

Family therapy helps families come back together again even when you feel you’re all falling apart at the seams.
If you’re ready to step up to the plate and try something to keep your family together, my door is always open. I know from real life experience that counseling can help. Families have hard times, no doubt! It doesn’t mean you need to sweep your problems under the rug or try to brave the storm alone. Family therapy can bring everyone together for effective airing of grievances and to get down to the bottom of love and pain in the family unit. No family is immune to hard times. Life carries its fair share of ups and downs. Families all ride in the same boat! Emotions are strong within families. It’s understandable to get to a point where you need to reset and talk.
